ADDITIONAL VERSES TO THE ENGINEERING HYMN
Following you will find additional verses to the Engineering Hymn. At the moment the verses you see are my own, however I'm hoping to collect as many as I can from around the world. Ideally, each engineering school and dicipline will be represented at least once, and the more I get the merrier. Writing a verse is easy and I encourage you to spend a little time and send me one. Heck, if I can do it anyone can. You can send verses to [email protected]. In the case of similar verses I will post the one I recieve first. I would ask that you give your name, program and graduation date as well as your school name, and its location so that you can be properly acknowledged.
Ryerson Polytechnic University, Toronto, ON, Canada
Waterloo has a mighty wrench, and Queen's a wooden pole,
U of T a cannon that they guard with all their soul.
But Ryerson has a symbol that's dear to an engineer,
As it's the only hammer that holds a keg of golden beer.
(M. Castanheiro, Industrial, 99)
I am from Ryerson and I am really proud,
I'll climb the highest mountains and I'll shout it really loud.
And when it comes to competitions we are never beat,
'Cause the only Engineering school is east of Yonge Street.
(M. Castanheiro, Industrial, 99)
The Golden I's awarded to the engineering school,
For proving that their IE's truely do rule.
And this year we're bringing it home, you have our guaranty,
'Cause Ryerson produces the greatest IE's.
(M. Castanheiro, Industrial, 99)
A maiden visited Nantuckit to see what she could find.
For according to the limericks it'd be a grand ol' time.
Her dreams were shatttered, nothing but lies, she packed up all her gear,
And headed down to Ryerson to become an engineer.
(M. Castanheiro, Industrial, 99)
University of Quebec - Trois Riviere, Trois-Riviere, PQ, Canada
Trois-Rivieres is not as big as Montreal,
In fact it doesn't even have a real shopping mall.
But there's a thing that makes very proud of studyin' here;
It's the town with the most bars per number of student engineers!
(M.L. Paquette, Industrial, 99)
